Simulathe

VR · Simulation · Education

SimuLathe is a subproject of ViRSE, Virtual Reality for Student Education. The goal: a mechanical lathe simulation for mechanical engineering students, giving them an engaging onboarding experience before their first real-life encounter with a lathe.

I used the ViRSE framework in Unity, designed the interactions, and built the entire environment, modeling the lathe in 3D and defining the interaction flow. Working closely with workshop technicians, I recorded them operating the machine to capture insights that shaped the design.
